Kim
Griffin-Hunter is an audit partner at Deloitte & Touche where she serves public
and not for profit clients in industries including healthcare, consumer trade,
and financial services. Kim's appointment to partner in 1999 made her the first
African American CPA to be appointed partner in a Big 5 firm in the South Florida
area and the first African American Female in the State of Florida.
Kim
graduated from the University of Miami where she earned a Bachelor of Business
Administration degree in Accounting.
She pledged AKA Sorority and served on the Dean's Appeals Committee. After graduating from the University of Miami in
1988
she joined the public accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche LLP, formerly Deloitte, Haskins & Sells. Later on during her career she went back to the University of Miami and earned an MBA.
Deloitte & Touche provided Kim the opportunity to excel both in her career as an auditor/business advisor and as a leader in the community in which she resides. Kim became a member of the National Association of Black Accountants ("NABA") in 1990.

Since then she has held several positions including Local Chapter President, Co-Chair of the 1997 National Convention (held in Miami, Florida), National Director of Education and Professional Development, Southern Region President and currently Executive Vice President of NABA.
Kim
serves on the Boards of BAC Funding Corp, Family Christian Association of America,
Inroads and NABA. She is also in the University of Miami Mentor Program, a member
of the FICPA Healthcare Committee and is a frequent speaker at local high schools
and colleges.
Throughout
the years, Kim Griffin-Hunter has received numerous honors and achievements including
the NABA National Distinguished Service Award, the Harlem YMCA Black Achievers
Award, and the Leadership Miami Carlos Aboleya Award (through the Greater Miami
Chamber of Commerce).
Although
Kim has received numerous honors, she continues to work hard to develop herself
as a professional and as an individual. She is continually devoted to providing
opportunities for others both in and outside of her community. She spends her
free time with her husband, 14 month old son, mom and a whole host of family members
and friends. She is a member of Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church and credits her success
to God's Blessings, role models mom and dad who instilled the basic values, provided
a loving home, inspired her, and taught her that nothing is too far from reach.
She feels that it is important to have a supporting spouse and network in order
to balance a high maintenance career and family. She enjoys sports, socializing
with friends, reading, and an occasional day at the spa. She hopes to improve
her golf game and catch up on saxophone tunes.
