He has been a United Methodist Pastor for over 29 years and has been the Pastor of Ebenezer United Methodist Church since 1999. Many new and exciting ministries has been initiated at Ebenezer, included a Community Tutoring Program, Exodus (substance abuse ministry), Liturgical Dance, Mime Group.
He was the Pastor of St. Paul United Methodist Church of Deerfield, Florida and Mt. Sinai United Methodist Church of Hallandale, Florida simultaneously from June 1974 to June 1986. From June 1986 thru June 1999, Rev. Brown was pastor at Kerr Memorial United Methodist Church. He has encouraged men, women and children to “Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God.” The Ebenezer Family continues to be grateful to have Rev. Brown as Pastor, Teacher and Friend.
He is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force (1962 1968). He received the Bronze Star as well as other Medals of Commendation for his service during the Vietnam War.
He is retired Chief of Miami-Dade Police Department (30) years). During his tenure, Rev. Brown rose through the ranks of Police Officer to that of Division Chief. Upon his retirement in 1999, he was Chief of the Special Investigation Division. He also served as a consultant with the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile and Delinquency Prevention for eight years. After the Rodney King incident in Los Angeles, he served as the Senior Police Advisor to the Police Foundation. In 1987, he was promoted to Bureau Commander and charged with designing and implementing the department’s Youth Service Bureau.
He has hosted the ever-popular talk show “HOT TALK’ on WHQT-FM for over 14 years. He is also an adjunct professor at Florida Memorial College and Barry University.

He is a member of the Clergy-Lay History Committee; Bethune-Cookman College, serves as the Chair, Miami District Disaster Response. Serves as a member of the Miami District Committee on Ministry Vice Chairperson, Board of Directors, Jubilee Community Development Corporation, Board of Directors, Board of Directors, Miami-Dade County Community Action Agency, Vice Chairperson, Alternative Education Advisory Committee, Miami-Dade Public Schools. National Association of Christian Counselors, and is also a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity.
He has received over 200 awards from civic, professional and fraternal organizations.
