MARLON A. HILL

Mr. Hill is a founding partner with the law firm of delancyhill, P.A., Miami, Florida. Mr. Hill focuses his practice on general corporate (especially for small businesses and entrepreneurs), entertainment, and international business and trade transactions. His areas of experience also include real estate, intellectual property, immigration, and governmental matters.

Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Mr. Hill is a graduate of the Florida State University College of Business (B.Sc., cum laude, Multinational Business and Finance, 1992), University of West Indies, Faculty of Law, Barbados, Summer Program, 1993, and the Florida State University College of Law (J.D. with Honors, 1995). Mr. Hill was recently featured as an "Up & Comer" attorney in the South Florida Legal Guide 2002, in the Miami Herald's Black History Profiles 2002, and in the Daily Business Review's "Leaders 2000 - Faces to Watch" issue as one of the "outstanding members of the emerging generation of South Florida business and professional leaders. Mr. Hill is one of the Inaugural Fellows in the Dade Community Foundation's Miami Fellows Initiative; a model of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation National Leadership Program. Professionally, Mr. Hill is the current president of the Caribbean Bar Association and a member of the Florida Bar (Entertainment, Arts & Sports and Business Law Sections), Black Lawyers' Association, and National Bar Association. He is the immediate past chair of the Board of Directors of the G.W. Carver YMCA in Liberty City/Little Haiti and is a campaign cabinet member of the United Way of Miami-Dade. Mr.

Hill was the founding president of the Florida Caribbean Students' Association, and currently serves as the organization's advisor. Mr. Hill also serves as a legal and community advisor to members of the local Caribbean Consular Corps.

Mr. Hill was a participant in the Miami Herald's Building Community conversation series. He has written published various editorial letters/articles on issues pertaining to community building, leadership values, emerging leadership, and Caribbean affairs.

Mr. Hill is a recent recipient of the United Way Essie Silva Community Builder Award and the National Philanthropy Day Outstanding Young Leader Award. Mr. Hill is proficient in Spanish and conversational in Portuguese.
